I call this series "PHP - Bottom Up", because we start at the "bottom" and work our way through the syntax and various "guts" of PHP. In a future series, I will "PHP - Top Down" where we will look at PHP as it is actually used in various Content Management Systems. So "Bottom-Up" is for the beginner who wants to learn how to write or "code" PHP programs. "Top-Down" is for someone who wants to know how it all fits together, and how PHP is used to create real-world database-driven content management systems.
